Campaign Organising Assistant opportunity

Kevin McKeever, Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Harborough, is looking for a motivated self-starter with an interest in developing community organising skills to assist on this year’s General Election campaign.

This voluntary role will assist with a variety of tasks which may include:

Helping to organise campaign events

Assistance in dealing with the media

Helping to mobilise and train other volunteers

Drafting and prioritising correspondenceIdeally, you will be available for a few hours a week, which will include evenings and weekends.In return, you will gain experience of organising and managing local campaigns, as well as developing media relations and online campaigning skills. You will also have the opportunity to work with the candidate and other campaign staff on a variety of tasks including, for example, organising visits and managing community issue-led campaigns, as well becoming involved with the campaigns in twin marginal seats.The successful applicant will have a good knowledge of current affairs and politics with knowledge of the East Midlands and constituency an advantage.

Good organisational, communication or IT/web skills would also be an advantage.
